Have you ever been dazzled by a car heading in the opposite direction that has not dimmed its lights after driving full beam? Do you sometimes forget to switch your lights?
A recent survey has highlighted the fact that many driving are driving blind for significant distances because selfish drivers don’t switch off full beam headlights.
Refusal To Dip Headlights
Drivers are being dangerously dazzled by oncoming motorists who refused to dip their headlights. At high speeds drivers can travel huge distances without being able to see and at high speeds, drivers can travel dangerously far without being able to see properly.
A study by Direct Line found nearly three-quarters of Brits had been temporarily blinded by oncoming drivers refusing to switch off full beam.
And more than 300,000 miles a YEAR are driven “blind” each year causing 1,600 accidents – 350 of which result in a fatality or serious injury.
Research has revealed vision is impaired for two seconds after the dazzling car has passed, too.
It means nearly 1.5million motorists have been forced to take evasive action to avoid a collision after being dazzled by full beam lights.
