New mobile phone driving laws were introduced in March 2017, which saw both the fine and penalty point endorsements increase. Here is everything you need to know to avoid being penalised for the offence.

It was revealed that almost half of British motorists are risking being penalised of using their phone behind the wheel of their car.

This is despite stricter punishments being introduced in 2017.

Here is a breakdown of what the mobile phone driving law is and why you can face a fine.

It has been illegal for a motorist to use a mobile phone while driving since 2003.

This includes even touching the device, following a map or sending a text and even applies when at a set of traffic lights or in traffic, as your engine is still running.
