Have you noticed that your drive to work has been a little quicker recently?

A recent report highlighted the fact that the average drive to work has been slashed by 25 minutes a week as UK roads are 10 MILLION cars lighter during school holidays

THE school holidays are bringing hours of joy to commuters with 10million fewer cars on the road.

Rush-hour journeys are being cut by an average of 25 minutes a week thanks to schools being on summer break.

Over the course of the six week holiday period, workers will have an extra two and a half hours to relax rather than being stuck in their cars.

Quietest Time of the Year

And the week starting on Monday August 7 is expected to be the quietest of the year, according to Confused.com.

Nearly two-fifths of commuters won’t be travelling to work next week as they take holidays with the family.

It means those who are working during that time can enjoy speedy, traffic-free journeys into the office.

And travelling home will also be quicker giving workers more time to enjoy the evening sun.

The average commuter faces a 27-minute drive every day but for three-quarters this will be slashed over the summer holidays.
